Recently installed a Stand alone monitor in 2000 Windstar. I have not been able to wire the dome lights of the monitor correctly. I had power from the Van dome but it would not shut off  when the doors closed. I tried the side headliner lights but nothing. I have a good ground but nothing I have tried seems to work.

Also where is the best place to take the constant and acc power. I have everything installed but have to power everything up.( I tested all of the components in a dry run and powered everything directly from the battery). I was thinking the fuse.panel...

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

are the domelights on the monitor domelights or are they maplights?? map lights only have a power and a ground and dont shut off with the car door, you have to turn them off yourself. domelight wires usually have 3 wires, ground ,power, door trigger. the easiest way if you dont know about electronics, is to just try different wire combos, its fast and wont hurt the vehicle so long as you dont let the wires touch. sounds like you just have a couple wires mixed up if they dont turn off with the car
