Ok, I am planning on putting a whole video/audio/nav system in my 2000 4runner. I just need some recommendations on brands, and the actual components i will need. This is what I would like to be possible. a nav/dvd screen in the front double din console. I would like 2 headrest monitors for front seats (to be viewed from the back). I would like to be able to view dvds both on the front and rear screens, view nav on both front and rear, view nav up front, and dvds in back at same time, view different dvds on all three screens. The idea is to be able to see any video source on any screen, but have them all default to off on car start, and default to the video select screen, or whatevers showing on the front screen when its turned on. Is this possible? It would be like the systems they have on airlines. You can view different sources on each screen, and see nav. How would I go about doing this? I also want to have an extra input if I want to hook up a game system to it. (seperate game system to each rear monitor). Thanks for any help.

You need to find a unit that can do what you want. All the ones I have seen will do nav on the front screen and video (movies)on the extra screens. Kenwood has a nice double Din unit that might just bolt into your vehicle. Do a search in their webiste.

I just installed the Alpine IAV-D300 in my 03 Navigator and my 03 Expedition.  The system is very expandable.  So far I have installed on both a DVD Navigation unit a backup camera and Sirius SAT radio.  The head unit will play DVD movies, Video CD, MP3 and Windows media on CD-R, and has a touch screen pulse feedback display.  The unit will do all that you want and more.  http://www.alpine-usa.com/
