Okay this is my experience from what I have noticed from changing the Pioneer 5700 in dash DVD/LCD ($700) to a Avic-N2 ($1600 or so) :

1. The AVIC-N2 does not support WMA file playback!! Plays MP3s and thats about it for compressed audio.

2. It does not play VCDs - only DVD and is waaay more picky about DVD-R discs than the 5700.

3. I compared both the screens output of the same DVD and I noticed the 5700 had a more clear picture! The N2 seemed kinda grainy for some reason.

4. The 5700 reads track names way more faster than the N2 and the touch screen reacts quicker also. N2 seems to have a slight delay.

Now this is wierd and kinda disappointing but the Navi is just great on the N2. Sometimes I wonder if it would have been better if I just bought a seperate Navigation unit for the 5700 ...

Just thought I would let you guys know.
