Pioneer AVIC-D1

In a couple days or so i am going to be installing a pioneer AVIC-D1,2 12" Rockford HX2's And A Rockford amplifier into my friends 2001 mustang bullet. what do i need to know about the avci-d1?? any install tips, or help someone can give me?? i have never installed anything with naviagation but i have put in pioneer tv's but this will be my first with navagation, and is there a way to bypass the dvd player to play while driving?? please let me know and thanks for the help, any info on this project would be great!

First thing you should know, its not a dvd player so if your friend wants to watch movies on it, he will need to go out and buy a dvd player.  Installation is fairly easy.  Just like a deck only you will need to find a reverse wire, speed sense, and run the wire for the antenna.
