Oh no, not Gentex mirrors again! Gentex GNTX-177 Mirror -- posted image.

Seriously, I have read every post on this site and others concerning this .

Heres the deal. GNTX-177 off of Ebay. Has flat 7 pin connector. Found wiring diagram that shows:

GM wire harness color                  function

PIN 1                  PINK                                                 POWER +12 volts

PIN 2                   BK                                                    CHASSIS, GND

PIN 3                   LT GRN                                           BACKUP LIGHTS

PIN 4                   GY                                  TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR

PIN 5                    PINK                              TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR

PIN 6                    DR GRN/WT                                  TEMP PROBE

PIN 7                    BK/WT                                             TEMP PROBE

Note: Pin 3 is to be connected to the backup lights to turn off the auto dim feature in reverse. If you intend not to use this feature connect the LT GRN wire to chassis ground. If this pin is floating the auto dim will not work properly.

Tried using 12 v battery charger as power source with +12vdc on the #1 Pink and ground on #2 black. No display or any indication of power. (leds, etc)

Is there anything special that has to be done to get it to initialize? (buttons, etc)

I pulled the insides out to check and the wiring appears to be correct. The internal board is labellled 1-7, 1, g, r, 0-, 0+, t-, and t+ on the pins..

I am out of ideas on this one. I have emailed Mito but nothing back yet.

Any ideas?

Tnx     Fred
