alpine dva-5200 not taking disc

i just bought a used alpine dva-5200 and its hooked up to an alpine cva-1005, the dvd player powers up but when i insert the dics it only goes in half ways and the disc spins as if it were in side. i dont know if there is half a disc stuck in there or what???  the screen says loading but it just doesnt take it all in???

is it possible to take the dvd player apart and maybe check if there is something stuck in there and remove it if needed???                                                                        

i know its an old unit but any suggestion would be greatly apprecaited???

i took apart and theres no disc in there.

i saw the circle part where the center of a cd sits at in the dvd player and when i tried putting in a disc with top off i saw that it got stuck there and it seems as if that circle is suppose to lift but doesn't , if i lifted that circle up with the cd so that it can slide in it would go in but it wouldnt play it. i also tried putting in the cd manualy and it still wouldnt play it????
