I have 4 tv monitors in my car that is hook up to a 20 amp relay (recieves power  when the car is on, and no power when the car is off). All four monitors although is pulling 8 amps of current..

When i turn the car on, i get a voltage spike on the monitors, so i gotten 2 3amp rectifer diodes. Will hooking two diodes up in parallel acrosss a relay stop the voltage spike or do i need to do something else.

No security system can beat the tow truck :(

This is the exact way the relay is set up, where exactly would I place the diode?
