I have recently installed a in dash dvd and head rest unit onto my truck.  I have picture going to the head rest but I can't seem to figure out how to get the sound going.  I got the unit from e-bay from a company in Hong Kong.  It was a pretty good deal except that the directions are in Chinese.

this is the link that has pictures of the unit and all of the parts and pieces included.  Any help would be appreciated.

there are no speaker wires in the back of dvd.  Besides the dvd player, I have the factory radio in the dash.

on the end of one of the wires coming from the head rest, there is a 12v connection, I think this has something to do with the sound, but everytime I connect power to it, it blows a fuse.

does the headrests have speakers in it.

you could run an FM modulator through the ant to pick up the DVD sound and play it through the cars speakers or wireless headphones.

do the tvs work without that 12v wire hooked up?

I am pretty sure that the head rest have speakers, I can hear it make a noise when they first come on.  the monitor does work without the extra 12V wire attached.  i would rather not run it thru my truck speakers, how hard is that fm modulator to install?

fm mod needs a ground and a key switch that can be found behind the radio. you can actually get a wireless one that doesnt need to run to the ant but they are known to have motor noise.

do the tvs have any kind of RCAs inputs?

do they heve any kind of audio input wires?

You could also buy a wireless headphone kit. It would require the RCA output from the DVD and power and ground. Many suppliers make them. I use the ones from Audiovox and they work great. You may need an RCA stlye noise filter on either a Fm modulator or the wireless headphone kit. Audiovox has one (IST2) for very little money and they work.
