i have an avic n1 and an older satellite tuner (model number gex-fm903xm) according to the installation manual for the satellite tuner, i can control the xm with my avic n1 through the ip bus hook up. but when i installed it like it shows in the installation manual i cant even select the xm function on the source screen. is there something i need to change in the settings of my n1 or am i overlooking something simple?
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

they are compatible, I had the same set up on my older avic-1 ansd same tuner. Just make sure thgat u plug it it the right  i-bus utput. On the hidden brain of the AVIC-n1 make sure that it is plug in th right one. The black one is uotput, the blue one is input.

Is up to the installer to test all wires with a DMM whenever possible.
