eclipse avn 2454

A friend of mine just purchased the avn2454 from someone over the internet.  When the unit came in it had none of the harness'es so we had to buy one from best buy.  Apon plugging it into the car, the three bottom left buttons on the main screen of the the tv come up grey, i believe they are "dsp, pos, and something else",  When i try to play a movie it says after load map dvd, please insert dvd.  MY friend purchased a newer model avn tv, and i put in his 1.3 navigation disc, but it seems like it doesnt recognize it?  Am i missing a step?  Is this head unit damaged?

You have to load the original map disc that comes with this unit in order to get all the functions to work.  I'm not sure if that model will take the newer version of the map software, but you definately must load the original one first.

You DVD not play because you missing GRN in 5P connection,I have same that problem few day ago when I tried to install myself
