I'm installing a Pioneer AVIC-N2 and wondering if the GPS will still work if i don't connect VSS.  Or is there any other alternative, since I can't locate the VSS.

vss is only available on the CAN-BUS or via one of the wheel speed sensors.
Reverse wire is Dark GREEN/ Purple in the drivers kick panel going to the rear of the vehicle.

AVIC-N2 Install.  I just got everything together and the unit doesnt turn on.  I hooked everything up and grounded everything that is needed.  Could this be from a bad ground???  I also noticed that the wires in the harness are missing some wires to go with them, (some wire connections arent  connecting to each other), they arent lined up in the correct terminal.  I lost, need some guidence please.

there also isnt' a switched wire in the radio harness, go to the lower left lighter and grab the pink / YELLOW to go to the red wire of the avic.

You have two lighter sockets one on the left and one on the right, the one on the left is switched power
