headrest monitor black/white

I recently installed two headrest monitors in my 2006 F150. One of my headrests turn on in black and white. the other is fine. They are Valor monitors and the B&W one powers up with a color Valor logo but then goes to B&W when the video source is present. If I hit the menu I can scroll down to reset and it turns it back to color, but I have to do this everytime I turn on the truck?? I have tried switching the video cables and it is isolated to that monitor (it doesn't switch sides). I checked all of my ground wires as well. Am I missing something, or do I have a faulty monitor? Anyone have any experience with Valor monitors or this problem? Thanks!

You may have a faulty monitor. Did you try disconnecting the good monitor and have it take a direct signal from the source unit ( no video splitter inline ) ?Jeff

No, I will try that. I did switch the two video lines to the headrests and it didn't switch sides, so I was guessing it wasn't the video amp or the cables? Even checked my ground and it is fine. I think I will email Valor and see what their response is.

I have heard this from a few people now. The Valor 700WR monitor says it switches automatically and there is no manual control on the on-screen display or remote. Does anyone know another way to manually control this? Also, if it thinks it is receiving a PAL signal from an NTSC source would it also shut off automatically after a few minutes? It is doing that now too, at a perfect interval, so it isn't my power source. I think it thinks it is not receieving a signal and shutting down automatically too??
