hello all ,first post here

i was in future shop the other day and found a avic-n2 ,open box special, apparently the guys wife made him return it.

i finished installing it all in my 1995 tahoe, dvd works fine(im thinking this guy already did the bypass because i can drive no problem playing dvds),but the problem is when i put in the nav disk,ver1.2,it says inappropriate disc, does it with both disks.now what is there any way i could check if he might have upgraded software versions.

thanks for any input,much appreciated.

i searched your forums quit a bit, didnt seem to find the issue im having

thanks again

scott

after unhooking it for final install after i hooked up again ,canot drive and watch, but i did see the foil was peeled on the bottom,so i suspect mabey he desoldered it

the watching while driving isnt a big issue to me ,but i would like the nav to work

thanks again

Man it sounds like you got a bum disc there. Did it come with both discs and if it did mabye try the other one. Or go back to the store and try your discs in the N3 if they have it on Demo as they will work on either unit. If the discs prove to be fine than I would suspect the main unit. You could get their install bay to trouble shoot it as well.

Scooter  Could you tell me how to revert the n2.  I have an n2 that is running on the 50 1.2 software. I have a new 60mt disc but I am afraid if I install it I will lose some of my hard earned "functions".  I would try this If I could remove it and go back to the 50 series disc should the results not be what I am looking for. Please let me know how you did this revert. Thanks
