I'm just courious, if Alpine DVA 5205 plays DVD-R? I know it doesn't play CD-R but not sure about DVD-R though. Another question is that why is the Alpine Monitor and DVD player so expensive comepare to the others? I have CVA-1005 and DVA5205, (got them both used to a good price) personally I think the image quality is not any better than the other brands, also it doesn't plays CD-R nor VCD-R with its DVD player which really sucks, I mean look at clarion, it has DVD and MP3 player all within one unit, and I beleive it is cheaper than the Alpine DVD Monitor combo and it plays pretty much everything,

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

If you know, or know someone, that knows how to burn movie quality DVD-R's, please share how.  I was told that burned plays different than retail or dont play at all unless in a desktop.  Would like to know.

Off the subject - Eclipse revealed at CES that theyre going to touch screen units that play MP3s.  Rear monitors can touch screen if you get the optional controller.  I think Pioneer is too.  Anybody?
