Can anybody help,

A mechanic friend installed some flipdown DVD monitors in my 2006 VQ Kia Sedona/Grand Carnival by removing the room lights in the second and third rows.  However, when the car is driving the dome lights on the flip down monitors do not turn off and the on/off switch for the flipdown units does not seem to work.  The lights do turn off when the car engine is stoppped.  What potentially could he have done wrong.  The instructions that came with the unit talk about a +12v (red), ground (Black) and +trigger (yellow) on one side of the diagram and a +12V (red) and ground (black) which looks like they go into a din connector,  He says he wired it right. Did he or is there some indirect problems relating to the sedona.  Any ASAP help would be great as we are going on holidays in a few days.

He wired it wrong. He tied into the domelight incorrectly. Try disconnecting the flipdown from the domelight entirely, if it works then just go without domelight until he can figure it out. If I knew the brand I could tell you exactly what to do, if I have used it that is.
