I have a 1992 buick roadmaster wagon, and i also have a dell desk top computer with a 15 inch lcd monitor. I Do have some experience with custom work and a decent amount of electrical knowleged. I want to put the components in my car so i can have iTunes and a Hard-drive in my car. Does this sound stupind? and why? I think it would be cool to have a 15 inch LCD in my dash and have iTunes on it.

does the monitor have an external power converter or is it built into the monitor? most older flat screens have the external converter which converts the wall power to 12V for the monitor. if this is the case (double check on the converter) then you can cut the converter out and plug the monitor directly into your battery. understand?
