What's going on ya'll... I went to a blow out sale and picked up 2 headrest monitors and a stand alone dvd player... I think i have a good idea of how to do what i want I have drawn out a diagram. The DVD player came with a plug that goes into the accessory outlet or the cig lighter spot. What i want though is to wire the dvd player so that it starts up when i turn the car on and the monitors will come on as well. I did notice that the power supply for the dvd player fits the monitors as well.  I am going to state each of my questions out so yall can attempt to answer them if possible :-D.

1) How could I connect the power supply to the ignition ( where it turns on ) that it would turn on the dvd player and both monitors.

2) does the diagram I have drawn out look like I have the right idea? If not any suggestions?

3) does anyone know where I can get rca jacks that  split into 2? 07 suzuki sx4 headrest monitor and dvd -- posted image.

hi,my name is rich, im new to this forum stuff so if im going about this wrong sorry.
For question 1, just tap into your accessary wire if your monitors have a power on/off switch you are still most likely going to have to press the power button for the picture to come in.
2) you can get those rca jacks almost anywhere best buy circuit city radio shack even home depot or lowes, however you should try a video splitter with or some type of video amplifier with distribution, so you dont run into poor picture quality. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=4118207&type=product&productCategoryId=cat08062&id=1051384702118

okay so i tried to power up my monitors and i am not getting what i think should appear.. i am getting a white screen that i do not see any kind of adjustements time date etc.. as the "instructions" say it should... I tried attaching the rca cables to each monitor individually to see if i could play a dvd on it and nothing worked... I got audio and no video. I tried every plug combination possible... anyone have any ideas? I don't want to find out i wasted my money on 2 monitors i can't do anything with... the brand is Sharper-44 .. Thanks

trial and error start substituting the products, first try the dvd player and if you know any one with a monitor ask them to test it out. you know you have power right so move to the next thing. wiring is simple yellow is video red and white is audio

yeah i got that.. I got the audio working ... the dvd player works at my house... but for both screens to be doing the same thing? there is also an extra black wire that says it's video but its actually audio... I dunno this stuff is pretty frustrating... *scratches head*
