Hello everyone, new to the forum.

I had an Alpine PKG RSE 1 installed in my 04 Mitsu Outlander and then it got broken into and ripped off, I purchased a new one and had a car audio place install it.  Here is my problem:

Everything on it works, sound picture, etc.  BUT when you put a DVD in none of the buttons work, so when you want to play the movie from the main menu you cant.  But If I have a DVD that plays the movie instantly it works fine.  I know the buttons and remote work, when I'm going through the settings all of the buttons work to change it around.  Is it possible they reused the wires still haning from the roof and one of them could have snapped somewhere.  I'm not sure if there is a "STRIKE" wire that runs from the screen to the DVD player.  I have also tried to reset it with no luck.  Any suggestions would be great, i want to avoid having to ship it back and pay to have it uninstalled then reinstalled.  But I'm afraid it might look that way...  Thanks again for any help!

If you had the system installed at a car audio shop, then I would go back there and have them look at it. It should still be under warranty if it's under 1 year and if the system didn't work properly from day one, then the shop should be responsible to repair or replace the product in question.

there's a remote wire that runs from the I/O box to the DVD player, depending on whether you have the DVD hooked up the AV1 or 2 decides what remote output wire is used. they are WHITE/ brown.
