I had a friend who did  the mod on my avic n2 with the solder over a year ago, it worked great! . Then I sent my unit back in for the recall on the flex cable recently because my screen disappeared....pioneer did not charge me but  fixed the cable and then I saw a message "removed bypass mod and applied void warranty sticker". So I called them and was upset that they fixed the mod and I said that I sent the unit in for the "recall" not for them to mess with the mod. But she said by law they had to fix it. I guess I'm lucky they fixed the cableI  but I was afraid something like that would happen,  but now i'm even more afraid to try the solder procedure again? Did this happen to anyone? Should I give it a try again or should I try a different bypass method you think?

Pioneer did the right thing. If it was legal for the driver to watch video while driving, Pioneer would not have fixed your mod and this topic would still be open. Do yourself and everyone else a favor, obey the law before you injure or kill someone.
