video interference, moving horizontal lines

Hi Everyone, I installed Alpine M780 with dual LCDs on my headrest. I've tried multiple suggestions from other in a different forum and he suggested I asked someone here, who may have experience with the Alpine M780 unit. I'm getting some kind of interference, moving horizontal lines. The interference becomes worse when I start the car. Can someone give me some guidance or ideas? This is what I've done so far. 1. The DVD player is not using a splitter and is connected directly with RCA wires to the alpine box. The alpine box has two outputs to the LCDs using Alpine own thin wires. Each end of the connectors are ~.25in in diam. and has 5 pins on each side. 2. The DVD player and LCDs are directly connected to the battery.    Grounding is at the battery terminal too. 3. I'm using one of the best RCA cable, Monster THX cables. I've played the DVD player inside the house and no problems. Used the lcds inside the house also no problems. Regards

whenever we get that problem we just throw a power filter to the dvd player and the screens and that usually solves the problem. just make sure you get one that has a high enough rating for all the current draw in the system.git yer swerve on!

Thanks for the reply. Where can I get this power filter? and How do I determine which on is high enough? Is there a different name for this? I'm assuming the power filter connects to the power line of the dvd and screens. Thanks for your input.

Therefore, can I just get 1 power filter to use for both dvd and screens? the dvd player needs a 3 amp & screens also 3 amp. Can I just use one 10 amp power filter for both? Thanks.

Finally bought a 12amp power filter. Installed on DVD player only, still has int. Installed on screens, still has int. Ended up installing 1 filter on both wires. There are less int. but sill noticable. The lines are still there but moving a lot faster, therefore less noticable. Do you think it would make a difference if I bought two filters and installed them on the dvd and screens individually?

what kinda of vehicle do you have? how is the interference when the car is off/on? have you tried taking everything out of the car, hookin power up to the car and testing it to see if any interference is still visible?git yer swerve on!

i think i read somewhere that the problem lies with the grounding being at the battery terminal..

Apparently that causes all kind of "noise" and the grounding should be placed independantly..maybe give that a try? i am by no means an expert but hey, if it manages to solve the problem

I have a Volvo XC90. With car off - a thinner multiple line interference. With car on - a thicker multiple line interference. I have tried powering inside the house but not through car power supply and no interference. Is it possible the interference is from the car's seat airbag? Since the screens' wires go inside the car seat. jonogould, I have grounded at three different locations before grounding directly to battery as last resort.
