Does anyone know how to enter this mode WITHOUT a remote?

OK I bought the remote and still can't get into service mode/screen. The screen just says please push reset. The up/up/down/down/ok or the up/right/up/right/down/right/down/right/ok doesn't work for me.

any ideas?
