Not shure what you mean by "slot" if it isn't a port. . . but are you sure your subs aren't fighting each other for airspace? Generally speaking, it isn't a good idea to point subs at each other ...

Anyway - 6 to 8 cft @ 35hz or so will give ya a nice response with a little bump right in the middle. . . <!-- -->

i would have to take a picture, basically when you open my trunk you just see a big carpeted box, the subwoofers are underneath. two subs on one side and two on the other facing each other, their is a open slot (not ported) on the bottom to wedge the subwoofers inside the box.the slot goes from the front of the bottom of the box to the back. its difficuly to explain.
but about the box , would is be 6-8 cubic ft for all four subs in a single box or would they each be chambered? i was thinking about having each 2 subwoofers chambered seperatly with two seperate ports (basically 2 boxes as 1), how much cubic, so about 3-4 cubic feet per chamber? (split the cubic feet in half.

I mean there are like a million ways to build this - chambering might be a good idea, if just for bracing a box that large.  I don't really chamber boxes I build. . . but I don't do systems with four 12's either so . . .

Three or four cubic feet should be fine - but you might what to mock it up in WinISD first - that build looks like it would be expensive (and a real pain in the rear) to do over again.
