My wife snaped off the passenger side mirror on her 1999 chevy malibu. I went to the junk yard and got another one but I don't know how to get the sail off the door. I pulled on it thinking it would pop off put no luck so far. Do I need to remove the door panel to get the sail off?

Yes, you need to access the screws that hold the mirror in place from the inside of the car. Typically there are 3 screws that hold the mirror in place. Most vehicles you only need to remove the cover that covers that portion of the door panel unless it's all molded into one piece. In that case you will need to remove the entire door panel to access the screws.
