I recently bought a used car, and never bothered to use the alarm yet. I finally got around to trying it out, but it doesn't seem to do anything. The my knowledge it worked fine with the previous owner.
The remote is pretty ragged / missing al it's numbers so I can't give the model, but it's a compustar lcd remote with 4 roman num bottoms. The top menu lists as followed: 2nd, shock, timer, auto (to give an idea of the model). It looks pretty dated.
Anyway, the battery is good, the shock icon comes on, transmitting icon when I click buttons.. but the car doesn't respond AT ALL. I've tried the turn ignition 5 - 7 times trick, all variations, and the car just doesn't seem to get any response from the remote.
The car is a 1994 BMW 325iC
Any help..? Thanks alot!

When you turn the ignition on 5 times you should get a flash on your parking lights. If you don't you've eithier done it wrong or the fuses are blown on the compustar

Do I turn it between off and acc, or acc and on? How will I know my parking lights flashed from inside the car? Whenever I turn it to on my daytime runners come on so it's hard to tell.

acc to on 5 times it may be a little different with you ignition timing I would go from off to on 5 times on the 5 on if you turn the ignition off your dash lights should be on. If so then your system is still good if not then you need to check the fuses. If the lights do come on push the I button once and you should get a confirmation flash from the car. If the lights come on and you get no response from the car when you push the I button then the remote or antenna could be damaged

Find the RED and RED / WHITE wire at the harness that plugs into the CPU ( it will be the largest one ) and you will find 2 x 30 amp fuses. Use a multimeter to check the fuses.

If this is an alarm only model, then there will be only one fuse ( 20 amp ) on the larger white harness.

Depends on the installer. Could be on the driver's dash up high or behind the glove box or senter console.

The fuses look fine.. Another odd problem is when I plug the alarm in, both of my windows drop down a bit.
