2010 jeep wrangler, remote start

Hey all,

Wiring a EVO-CHR and a Compustar 2WG5-900SH remote start into a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Looked at the wiring compared to the 2009 and its exactly the same.

Question is I haven't used the above combo before. Looking at Fortin's webpage/video for the evo makes me think it should be a simple plug in the bypass with the correct harness, then plug in the data-2-data wire and the antenna and I should be all set.

Those that have used the combo or the newest generation of Compustar and the evo can you tell me what else I need to wire? The video just make it seem to easy. I have tried looking but all I can find is that some of you guys are able to do a complete install in 15 mins.

Ok... so the remote start is all wired and was working when we just had it laid out on the jeep. Routed all the wires and tucked everything away, and now it doesnt work. Doesnt even want to stay in reservation mode.

I'm thinking it might either not be getting a good ground (which would be odd because I used one of the factory grounds) or it might not be getting enough  power. We tapped into the brake light which we tested as a 12 v constant.

First time we had it soldered in the fuse blew for the brakes, we then replaced the fuse and it was good to go. 

Anyone have any other ideas?

K After re-reading the above I even got confused... here is it simply.

Remote Start all wired and worked when laid out. Tucked all wires away. Now placed into reservation mode, exit vehicle, close door. Vehicle locks and shuts down as it should. Started via remote and worked. Got in a took over with key, drive. Park place into reservation mode and shuts down when key is removed (as if remote start not installed)

Remote start FOB still able to lock/unlock doors. But when press Start button 2-way key fob  sends signal then flashes red after a moment and jeep doesn't start.

are you following the reservation mode correctly?

also the d2d doesnt work with the compustar because the compustar is programmed default to work with ADS (idatalink modules) you need to go ito programming to change it to Fortin, however i sstill hate the d2d, i prefer w2w anyday.

ya i scrapped the d2d and did w2w.

I have a feeling it might just be in valet mode. When we unplugged everything to re-route the wiring it the remote start was unplugged for a good 30 mins.

Seems to be intermittent though. Worked at lunch.

Figured I would try and take it out of valet mode as per manual and try. If that doesnt work, might try unplugging everything let the brain reset and try programming from scratch.
