I am a retired installer and only work on friends and family vehicles. I just installed a viper  5501 starter (range not enough)  and want to install the vsm100 or dsm100 in the car. Can I do this myself or will I need some type of contract or program to install it, or a bitwriter.    Thanks in advance, you guys always come through... Bob

I would love to find the installation instructions as well as how to activate it since I am installing it myself. I figure if I can install the alarm, this should be within the realm of my capability.

No program or bitwriter required . Very easy to install . You wont find install instructions since theres only a power , ground & data connection . They are meant to be installed by a authorized dei dealer .

You will need a authorized dei retailer to activate . There is No work around . If you cant get a shop that sells dei products to activate , its useless .
