I guess, but the remote isnt a high current line, don't know for sure what the amp rating is, but the remote wire, as far as i remember when i installed my radio, doesnt have a fuse on it, which to me says its not very strong at all. after all the power the amp actully runs on doesnt come from the RMT line. I'm sure you have more experiance with this, so I'll take your word for it till I find out other wise :)

Hey Jeff,
    What size fuse should I install inline with the remote turn on wire if I am going to use it for turning on 2 amps? Is the draw going to be enough to require a fuse? Maybe I'm just overly cautious. (If there is such a thing with electricity)

Nevermind, I just put a 1 amp fuse inline in an easy to reach location.
