Ok! i finally got my XKloader. I put on the 5.PKTI firmware and re-wired for it. I have run into programming problems again.
The xpresskit site says it requires 2 keys to program a toyota. but the directions they give me only shows how to program using 1 key. I have tried using one then switching to the other. It will not program (the LED will not go out).
I have managed to trick it a few times by switching the RX and TX while the car was running and this would actually program the module but when i try using a key or the RS it wont catch. I have flashed multiple times during programming attempts.
any ideas? ( I attached the bypasses ground to a chassis like jkxmlr has mentioned)

The XK05 with 5.PKTI firmware should work as long as the Ignition key does not have the "G"

stamped on the blade.  While your diagram does not show it, the 4 Pin D2D cable is not necessary
and should not be connected.  Only the 6 wires shown from the 10 Pin connector are connected.

The wiring looks good for a Japan made car.  The info I have says RX is Light Blue on Pin 4 and
TX is Beige on Pin 5.  Keysense(-) is also Light Blue but on a seperate connector.  Double check
your Keysense with a DMM.  (The module uses Keysense to program.)  All of these connections
should be soldered.  Only one Key is required for programming.  ( Fords need two keys. )

The correct programming for a Toyota is Type 1 on Page 8 of the install guide.  If the modules LED

does not flash quickly and go off when a key is inserted, triple check the Keysense connection.  I
would reset the module by re-flashing it with the 5.PKTI firmware and start programming again.  As
the instructions indicate, at step 1, when the modules' 10 Pin connector is attached, the LED should
come on solid.  At Step 2, when the key is inserted, the LED should flash quickly and then go off.

Two keys, different keys, switching wires, etc is not required.  A solid reset of the module by flashing

it with PKT2 firmware and then back to the 5.PKTI firmware wouldn't hurt.  If you are re-flashing
in the car, make sure the 10 Pin connector is removed during the re-flash.

Soldering is fun!

Solid chasssis ground is good.  But disconnect "GWR OEM bypass module".  Also disco the two factory alarm wires.  I think maybe things are getting FUBAR with reading inputs as outputs and vice versa.  Can always re-connect later if doesn't help.  Go simplest first, when working, add things you believe you need hooked up 1 at a time.  If it quits, dixco.

Yea i have a 40 bit key, no G on the key. I have tried removing the alarm wires and disconnecting the GWR. I have tried messing with the 2 keysense wires. still the same result. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm6I-gh9Bwc
I made a video of where i am to give a bit more information. would the connections from the RS affect the bypass modules programming?

According to iDatalink install guides, the Keysense wire is Light Blue.  Did you, can you, test this with a DMM?

PM sent.

Soldering is fun!

I have tried programming it with the green XK05 wire attached to the chassis. and removed the brown GWR from the remote start. no luck. I have tried many variations attached to the blue keysense wire as well as the WHITE/ black one. I have tried all that again with the TX and the RX switched. I have confirmed the pin locations and have no doubt I have the correct wires.
I have checked the keysense with a DMM and confirmed it is the blue one.
I am at a dead end I believe. Seems like there is no way to get this thing to program. I may have to buy another bypass module, perhaps one with a different make. Does anyone have any recommendations for a almost full proof toyota corolla 2010 S 40 bit bypass module?
And if anyone ever has any other ideas, I would love to try it!
thank you!

Only other thing I can add is to solder the data connections, connect everything as shown in instructions and try it.  Remember, its data your passing, not just voltage.  Changing wires around may fry something.  I had a need to call Xpresskit tech support and soldering data connection was enphasised.  Have you tried tech support?

It's working!!!!!
I ended up buying a ADS TB bypass with an adapter and flashed the correct Toyota firmware. Worked on the first try with no issues. The car is all cleaned up and looks perfect now with a working remote start.
I appreciate the help along the way and for anyone thinking of a Corolla 09+ bypass... I suggest you avoid the XK05.
Thanks everyone.
