I'm having some trouble removing the factory receiver from my 2001 Chevy Cavalier.  I also need some advice for removing the covers from the front door speakers.  Any advice would be appreciated!

cavaliers are fun (disconnect the battery) there is a screw on both sides of the dash behind the end caps ,1 screw in the defrost vent 2 under the vent ,possibly one above the spedomiter,a few in the top of the glove box and two gold ones in the back of the glove box then the top of the dash carefully pops up (watch the air bag at all times) then there are 4-6 screws across the top of the front dash piece before it pops off .be carefull and be gentle...good luck

you will also need to run an acceessory wire as the new gm vehicles don't have one behind the deck

You might need an accessory wire if your cavalier has the new GM Databus. Here's an easy way to tell. Turn the key and open a door. If the chimes are coming from the speakers, then you have the databus. If they are coming from somewhere behind the central dash, then you don't and the acc. wire will be in the harness.

Is this the same for the 2000 Cavalier z24? What do you do about the factory alarm led that's in the radio?
