Id like to hear some other peoples opinions on what their favorite SQ decks are of all time...I have a few that, were I a multi-millionaire, would have to be part of my collection...and who knows, maybe one day I will have some of them...
in no particular order, they are:
McIntosh MX-406
Clarion 9255
Alpine 7909
Nak CD700
Sony C90 (also CDX 910)
Denon DCT Z1
these are all I can really think of at the moment, but feel free to post your favorite SQ decks...

Im with you bberman, i have a new Eclipse CD5433 and i love it to death. I started out with a nice Panasonic on my setup but i didnt like the sq i was getting from it and figured i would have to get an eq to make it sound the way i wanted but with the Eclipse deck no eq is needed to make it sound good so.

I am an MP3 person. I don't think I can go back to the single cd on the wave format. Had a Pioneer DEH-P740MP, but now I have upgraded it to the DEH-P940MP. A little slow when it comes to getting the music started, but I enjoy it.

thepencil you run an mp3 deck as an SQ deck??? what components back up your system? I cant stand mp3 playback as it is so full of flaws and oddities...
sacrilege!!! lol...
and yes bberman, the world wouldnt be what it is today (not sure if thats good or bad, heh...) if we were all drones who were all of the same mind...diversity makes us stronger, and makes this board the most useful tool that it is...
