I'm using a normally open reed switch for a fuel kill. But i've noticed that 2 reed switches I've used have stayed closed after a few uses. Here's the diagram I used:

What should I do to keep the reed switches from staying closed. They stay closed after i remove the magnet to actuate them.

most likley find that the reed switches can't handle the current needed to energize both the relay and fuel cutout, and the contacts are fusing closed, i suggest you use the reed switch to switch another relay which in turn switches the other relay and fuel cutout

Yea most reed switches cant hadle much current, i would definitly use it to drive something else pref a transistor or if capable a relay.

just wire the relay contacts where the reed switch was, put one side of the coil to ground, and the other side of the coil thru the reed switch to the 12+ factory fitted supply wireto fuel pump (I tried to uplod a picture but it would work - who knows why?)
