What is the best remote starter on the market, longest distance, most reliable, best bang for buck, etc. It is for an automatic.I thought I would ask the pros out there before I buy one.

i have to say prestige aps996 for under 150 with shippin on ebay. this have the same features as the hornet 554t which i also like but cost a bit more(20-30bucks). very good range. i wouldnt recommend anyone out there to get the responder (too expensive but nice transmitter). it does not have that many features (like timer/clock/temp....) like hornet and prestige do. stereotypical ppl usually go for the best buck but not for a best bang. am not a pro to say but thats my opinion. somewhat used 790xv,550esp,aps996,554t and bout to do a matrix rs3. best one i think for the $ is the aps996 even though i have 790xv.
so hope my non-expertise info will help ya

If you think at range go for the Viper 790XV.
If you think at features go for the Hornet 554T.
If you just need a good solid remote start without alarm go buy a Valet. Will do the job JUST FINE :)

never buy prestige, audiovox is not exactly known for quality, and $150 would be overpriced, i agree Valet from dei is your best bet.. check ebay

I have worked with A few brands an down the road...Viper (DEI) makes the best unit, simple, and reliable.

DEI is the best as far as lasting but you pay for it. I use the prestige 996 remote start/alarm and it works great. It is harder to install if you don't know what you are doing because dei has better install guides but I love the aps 996. I got mine for 130 off ebay and it took me about 2 hours to put it in. Its up to how much money you want to spend on the unit as to what you get. The website for the aps 996 is
APS-996
