If you attach the starter wire to this wire by the relay, you will also bypass the clutch all together everytime you start the vehicle.

  • What this means is that if you are to take a wire straight off the starter wire and wire it up to the (+) side of the clutch activation wire on the clutch, you will not have to press your clutch in whenever you start the car because the (+) pulse from the starter wire will automatically engage the clutch for you. So everytime there is 12 volts present on the starter wire, your clutch will engage.

Jeff, you have no idea what I am talking about on how I told him to do the clutch bypass. It does not prevent you from having to push the clutch in when starting the vehicle by key. I owned a last generation Integra, I had a Haynes book for it that I read and saw how the clutch bypass works. Did you? Didn't think so. I connected my starter kill and starter output from my alarm/remote start at this point and it worked fine. No other clutch bypass needed.

Hey Jworm,

Sorry if I upset you but from your initial description of the process where you took the starter wire and wired it straight to the clutch relay bypass, this in my mind and experience would turn the engine over when you have the key in the ignition wether or not you have the clutch depressed. In your second post you then mentioned the starter kill wire & your starter wire from your RS unit which to me made more sense. Like I said before, didn't mean to up set you or anything, just in your first post you did not mention a (-) trigger wire coming from the RS unit.

PS: I also own an Integra and so does my brother & I have worked on them as well as about 50 other's from various years 94 Integra Clutch Bypass Help! - Page 2 -- posted image.

I'll be a little more specific about what I did. I actually had an Avital 6500 which had a mini relay pack similar to the new DEI units that just came out. Coming out of it are two starter wires, one for key side, and one for starter side (which is internally connected to the starter output for remote start). I cut the starter wire at the factory relay and connected it as normal....starter side to starter side, key side to key side. It doesn't prevent you from having to push the clutch in, to do that you would have to jump the starter wire from after the clutch relay to before the clutch relay, which never happens. No (-) out from the remote starter is involved. At no point do the wires at the clutch switch get touched.

And I wasn't upset....just hate it when people post incorrect info. If I don't know the answer for sure, I won't post without making it clear that I not 100% sure. Your right on most of your posts though, and are a great help here :)
