i see there is a keyless module available for your truck. this is the best way to do it because you will not have to get rid of any keys go here and see the module i am talking about. http://http://www.bypasskit.com/shop/details.asp?prodid=PKF&cat=12&path=1,12

Your 2000 Expy uses PATS II.  It requires TWO keys to add any additional keys (or chips like the bypass uses).  You will need to take it to a dealer, or a locksmith with an NGS in order to program new keys or the bypass.

Your other option is to remove the chip from the key you have and attach the chip to the ignition cylinder then you can use a regular key to start the vehicle, but this completely defeats the PATS system.

We sell bypasses for the 1999-2001 Explorer that does not need an additional key to bypass the PATS, they are $ 45.00 for each unit + shipping.

take the key that you have. there is a small square on the top of the key pop it off and pull out the chip. take the white chip and wire tie itor glue it to your key cylinder . move it around untill you get the right spot.
