Hi. We installed an aps-685 into a 2003 Impala. When the car is remote started the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light turns on. We followed the DEI wiring sheet and used the 555L

On the aps did you make the 2nd ignition stay on while cranking? Default setting on audiovox remote starts does not have that set to stay on when the starter cranks the car. Also, on the new Chevy's you have to hook up the brown wire. You used to be able to get away with not hooking them up, but not anymore. Hope that helps.

The problem is the second accesory wire, it will kcik on the SES light.  Fix the settings on the alarm, and that should make it go off.

Did you cut the wire and add a relay in for the parking lights? (Assuming you used the white wire @ the BCM). If not then I would check that or like others said it could be your missing an accessory wire. Good luck,
Mike
From the DEI info:
PARKING LIGHTS -|white *8            |   |pink 24-pin plug @ BCM *3
*8 Must isolate this wire from the BCM when doing remote start to avoid 'service engine soon' light. See directfax document #1600 for wiring information.

NowYaKnow has a point with the light relay. That will also trigger that light via the bcm. Totally forgot bout that. I use positive at the switch.
