According to the database here the tach wire for your truck is BLACK/ gray and is found at the coil.       Here is the link    https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=2000&make=Dodge&model=Dakota&ID=17605&type=Alarm
Thanks, but this engine uses coil on plug. There are 8 individual coils, not just one.Does anyone have information for that? BTW it is a 4.7L V8 engine.

Use the wire color at one of the coils that is not common with the other coils. Make sure you change your RS to a single cylinder signal if it requires that.
Also, if your remote start happens to have an auxiliary input, you can possibly use that to work with your factory keyless. Chrysler keyless works with the vehicle running, and usually when I do a remote start on a Chrysler product with factory keyless, I hook it up so that if the owner presses the lock button or hits the lock switch 3 times, the car remote starts. Then again, the only remote start I usually install is the DEI Rattler 369D which can be programmed for 3 pulse activation(also comes with its own remote and antenna for extra range). I wouldn't hook factory keyless up to an RS auxiliary input unless it could work on 2 or 3 pulses. If you want more info on doing that let me know.
