03 ford focus sedan door trigger?

I put a viper 550ESP in yesterday.  I got the Remote start part up and running easily.  I started on the alarm part and can't find anything.  I have all the diagrams from DEI and misc. other places.  THey say to use a BLACK/ blue wire that's low in the drivers kick panle for the door trigger.  Well there are 3 of them.  So I broke out the voltmeter and all 3 of them show positive 1 volt DC when the door is open and nothing when it is shut.  So it is a door trigger wire, but I tried connected it first to the positvie door trigger on the alarm and then the negative.  Nothing.  SO then I tried just grounded the negative trigger on the alarm (as a test) and it did set off the alarm. 

What do I do here?  Also how in the h*ll do I hook up the door locks?  I saw stuff in the manual about resistors and all kinds of crap.     

That's what I did.  I found the wire, there are actualy the 3 of them in there.  But it wont trigger the alarm. 

SO how do I hook up the door locks?  I though it said somewhere I have to do a 5 wire hook up.  From what I see in this post, I just have to hook up a lock wire and unlock wire, the unlock wire gets a diode on it, and uses a double unlock pulse?

I will try the connector over the xmas break. 

One issue I have with the direct connecting the lock wires is that it says in the viper manual that it can only handle 2 OEM locks.  I have 4, it's a 4 door sedan.  But I am assuming I can just use two relays, but how do I get them to flip polarity?   what a pain

really?  I know the door triggers are (-).  But I am talking about the lock and unlock input.  You learn something new everyday.

Has anyone here put an alarm in an 03 focus?  Just curious if somehas a picture of the door trigger wire connection and the door lock connection.
