I have read a couple of reports that the AVIC-N1 has an annoying fan noise. Does anyone know if this is correct? I have a nice quiet Lexus and would be upset if I had to listen to a fan instead of quite passages in the music. avic-n1 fan noise? - Last Post -- posted image.

Can anyone suggest someplace in Northern California where I can hear one of these units? The local Best Buy sells the unit but has none on display. Also, the place is so noisy.

I work at the store in san francisco, we have one on display. I cant say ive noticed the fans being noisy though, just got done today with a mercedes with one in it and didnt notice it either.

yes, there is considerable fan noise. At first i thought it was road noise and spent quite a bit of time checking various things. I then ran the unit with it out of the dash and after a few minutes of playing a dvd the fan turned on. I have it in my '04 vette and it is noticeable if the radio is turned down to a very low volume....i just learned to live with it.

I have a avh-p6400cd and i can hear the fan noise,but is very low.

My AVIC-N1 has fan noise too. Being up so high in the dash didn't help either. Especially since it's a high pitched noise.
