What happens if you unlock the truck, get something out, then re-arm the alarm... Will the remote start not work at this point?

Nope, the ready mode will be cancelled. It monitors for the doors and if open after ready mode is active, then it will cancel the ready mode. You have to get back into the car and go through the sequence again.

That seems like kind of a pain in the arse, but I can see why it's that way, covers the alarm companies butt.

All of the starter's that Compustar offers is both manual and automatic safe with an almost automatic READY MODE for the user.

Velocity Motors - Are you saying the Compustar can be switched from Manual tranny to Automatic Tranny mode?  That may come in very handy in the future if I have this alarm installed in a different car, or sell it.

There's a jumper wire that allows you to choose between Manual ( UNCUT ) and automatic ( CUT ). Once cut though the system is set for automatic and if you decide to reconnect the jumper wire, then warranty is void.

Way2-

The reserve mode for my Compustar 2wss-as sequence is: Stop car, place in neutral, release brake, apply parking brake (doors will unlock at this point) turn off ignition and remove key (car will still be running) exit vehicle and close doors. Car will shut immediately. Not to different from norm except you release brake before applying parking brake. I love my alarm.
