Ok New to the forums, and new to ford. i have a 99 ford explorer XLT, which I want to put my system in from my blazer. In the blazer I just ran the power wire through the firewall. I cant find a place to do that on the explorer. If any one has and has pictures of suggestions for me please let me know!

e-mail me FWood@salemco.org

I would appreciate any help I can get. I NEED BASS IN MY LIFE.

you'll have to drill a hole and put a grommet in it.  Make sure you don't drill into anything on the other side.  A good place to drill if your explorer's an automatic is the spot where the clutch cylinder would be on a manual trans. truck.

70% of the time there is not going to be a grommet there... Your going to have to drill a hole if not....  I agree with chris...  If its an automatic you have a nice space to drill a hole where the clutch would be...

YUP...Gotta drill through the firewall...it's hard to find grommets anymore on a lot of newer vehicles....just bust out your drill...double, check, triple check...and drill awaymake sure you put a grommet in or you risk rubbing the power wire raw from hitting bumps, etc....

I agree with player...  We always keep serviceability in mind with all our installs...  The only time I'd resort to something like that is if it were the final option in a long list...

Hey...There's only one way to learn.......Try it, and if the mechanic comes up front to beat you like punching bag, or if the sounds are outta your ride, you know why.....

If nothing happens......you got some great luck.

But if I were you....find another place before you bring it in for service work
