Hey guys i have a customer who will be returning b/c her security light stays on after the vehicle has been r/s'ed,and while driving ...any ideas? the car is a 2000 pontiac grand am

There is a problem with the bypass or bypass wiring. You should try by checking the wiring out. You should also triple check the ground. If all the wiring checks out then replace the module and see if the problem still persists. I have had a ton of DEI 555Ls go bad.

make sure you get the right wires for 555l sometimes is white or black or ORANGE / black
how own your mind, control your life.

I have to agree.  It almost has to be a passlock issue.  If it is just a little off, it will still start, but will trip the security code.  Use a good quality dmm and compare the voltage when started by the key as compared to started by r/s.  Make sure they are the same.

What bypass did you use ? I know in the past I have made the mistake of placing the jumper on some of the bypasskit.com modules in the wrong orientation and it worked, but the security light or passlock light was left on until the key was removed and restarted.

hey thank you for all the responses.The customer should return in about a week...so you think the module is bad...hmmmmm.the first one i used didnt even work...thanks again and i will re-check the wiring,
