Hi All

Awesome site!  I have searched this sight and found much of the info. that I need to install an AstroStart car starter in my 2003 F250 Diesel.  I need to know the factory wire clors for the following:

1 - tach signal; 2 - Glow Plug Signal; 3 - Brake Signal; 4 - Transmission (Park/Neutral) Signal

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Brad

tach - green white at back of instrument cluster (6 cyl)

Glow plug input, all the charts claim that the glow plug light is controled by databus but I haven't seen one yet that is.  Check with a DMM wire at the back of the instrument cluster the BLACK/ pink wire.  It should be ground when the glow plug light is on and +12v when the light is off.  If it is not there you will have to set the remote start to timed start.

Brake - green at swich above pedal

Transmission park/neutral wire is not neaded.  You are obviously installing an older astro start as the new ones no longer have this wire.  Just ground that wire and you will be fine.

As always, test everything with a digital multimeter!

Hey Player69

Thank you for the info.  It was a huge help.

You are correct in your assumption that the 'starter' I am attempting to utilize is an older model.  Because of this, I am not sure if it has a 'timed start' mode.  The model in question is an AstroFlex  Model #126.  Are you familiar with them?

Thanks again

Brad

Yes I am familiar with them.  You are correct there is no timed start for diesel.  You shuold be able to find the glow plugs at that wire I suggested.  I not you could go directly to the light in the instrument cluster.
