Diagram says that the lock and unlock motor wires rest approximately at 7v and upgrading the factory keyless entry system is not recommended. Well, one of my co-workers says that if I add a 1k resistor from the motor outputs from the alarm to ground, it *should* take care of that. Can anyone confirm? Anyone know how to properly or bypass this 7v thing in order to upgrade the factory alarm system?

CHEVROLET, MONTE CARLO, 2005, Power Lock
Lock is negative trigger thru a 470 ohm resistor. Unlock is a straight negative trigger. MUST use relays.
The BCM is under the driver side dash, above the parking brake lever.

To add on to the OEM keyless you just want to use relays. You would run pin 85 to the motor wire in the vehicle, pin 86 to ground. Then pin 87 to power or ground depending if the add-on module has a pos or neg trigger. Then pin 30 to the trigger on the module. If you need to use both motor wires (ie arm and disarm) then you would need 2 relays.. Also some modules want to see the trigger rest at a ground if so you would run pin 87a on the relay to ground..

Thanks for the info, but now... Well in this situation, the wires rest "approx" at 7v. What do I do then?

Exactly. Wire the relays just like Mike said.

Is there any other way, Ive seen someone else do it withOUT relays. Resistors and diodes on the motor wires is what he did. Anyone know that method?
