K anyone got any ideas.  Weve never run into these before not sure how to approach it.    Drager breathalyzer.         Im sure alot of you are firmilar with these

Useal wiring

Cut starter wire. Wire one half to one side of unit.  One to the other  to complete the loop throungh the internal relays

Wire ingition wire and horn output

DONE

Customer blows into unit passes and the car will start

Well I understand passlock and all that but its the hook up of both i guess i  just cant put it together in my head.    Also the canyon and colorado are the same correct

are you trying to install a breathalyzer? Or are you trying to bypass one that the authorities have installed on your car?

Standalone No RS NO Alarm.    I am a authorized installer in the state of iowa IDOT.  The  distributors have not figured this out yet useally passlock and all that is still no biggie cause there is a starter wire NOW cause there is not  were having probs.  The ion is the first we have had this happen with.  Drager dont do RS or alarms so this as all new to them also.

so the breathalizer starts the car or allows the key to start it.Which one?I would think it could be wired into the Data ECM to data Key.With a relay to give it connection or not.Just a thought ,my colorado is the same as far a the resistance deal with no starter wires. But i am new, so i am learning.

The breathalizer allows the key to start the car.....

Tintman97, if I were you, I would be in the manufactures face....they need to be able to give you proper technical support and advice. You don't want your "customer" getting a bunch of false readings and having the court system needing explanation. In Washington state, these laws are tough as nails.....mistakes are not so easily forgiven. I would say DO NOT put your neck (contract) on the line trying to figure out how to do the installation on this type of car, this type of ignition system is getting ever more popular....the manufacturer needs to keep up with the times.

just my opinion.

Directwire also list a (-) starter wire under the hood that goes from the ECM to the starter. Should be yellow in pin 66 at the large plug at the ECM. The ECM (Engine Control Module) is on the driver side of engine compartment, near coolant over flow container.
I would try to find that wire and interupt it.

Kartuneman  I under stand that the manufactur should but they are very slow with anything what they have told us is to turn away the customer. Dragers a good company just  slow on R&D.  Ever drink beer they invented the ball tap LOL.  Now they make breathalyzers.   I appricate all help in the matter.  Im not puttin my head on the line just wondering if anyone has done it already.
