LED vs. Neon

Please state the pros and cons of each.

I was also wondering if LED's spread light out like neons do.

I have found with LED kits some of the LEDs will go (not work) and some will still work in the individual LED bar itself. after TIME. wheras IF your NEONs go you wired em wrong.

wish I ccould edit.

Anyway the kewlest thing about LEDS is the differnt patterns the produce. ( not just ON) Scanning ect. and they give off about the same light if not more depending on the kit you buy.

pros and cons

LEDs pros- use minimal power comsuption, are directional (so u can aim them at something in particular), much smaller and can be hidden + take up less room, less fragile then neons, much easier to use for custom work

cons- certain colors like red aren't as bright as neons, because of directional beam not so good for lighting a general area

NEON pros- can light bigger areas, can fade brightness, generaly cheaper

cons- use ALOT of power comsuption, generally large in size, can break easy

modest yet effective... ECLIPSE 12", Venom 8"x2, Focal 5 1/2" comp.,Response amps x2 (580WRMS total @ 4Ohms), Pioneer TFT + DVD, good for 148.7dB
