I just finished a rs in a 2006 dodge grand caravan. I hooked up a relay to the headlights. I start the vehicle and the parking lights come on after about 10 seconds. Does anyone know why it's taking so long for them to turn on?

What kind of remote start? Most DEI alarms are made that way....

if you are using voltage sense instead of tach, this will happen. the parking lights only turn on after the Remote starter "knows" the vehicle is running. with tach it knows right away, voltage takes a little bit.

Im actually using tach, not voltage sense, it's taking like 10-15 seconds of running, before the parking lights come on.

I have had that happen before and have never been able to pin down the reason. I am guessing its probally an issue with the resistance though.

I don't think you need the 180 ohm through the 2nd starter wire anymore. Do it if you want to I guess, but I know it works fine on the newer ones without it.. I tested this pretty thoroughly and couldn't find any use for hooking up the 2nd starter anymore. Anybody else play with this?
Mike
Chalk up another one for not needing a 180ohm resistor. I did a brand new 06 Caravan last week for a repeat customer ( ive done at least 5 for their family and relatives ). Not a complaint from them yet!
Yes, that KNEE AIRBAG kind of sucks, get used to it. I see more and more vehicles have them. This was even on a BASE model Caravan with no power windows or locks.
