You need to get into the door for the OEM alarm disarm. Pulsing the unlock wire once will disarm the system and 2 pulses will unlock.

Would you be able to offer wire color and would this wire be in the cluster coming from the door key switch?

Thanks, Jim

disarm and arm are same as lockand unlock so you will need to double pulse unlock in the door colours are lock RED / green and unlock RED / blue(test to verify) They are both neg in the door.  Inside door DO NOT pull off the bigmetal plate it is not a good idea

And why would you pull the inner door insert Andrew??? Realigning the window regulator is NOT fun.....
Test the door lock wires using the key in the outside door chamber.... extended pulses will close sunroof/roll up windows, and roll down the windows. Doorpin, hoodpin, trunkpin, trunk release are all at the BCM, located under the carpet in front of the driver's seat.

Buy something else....  Designtech is junk..  Even the rebadged DEI crap.

not familliar with the designtech bypass, is it a c**k ring thingy that goes around the key cylinder?  use a DEI 555U/w and hard wire it(too bad you lose a key).  In the install book it has alternate wiring instructions,  the passat should have a twisted pair of wire coming from behind the cluster that you can hardwire the U into.  If the designtech can be wired this way try it as well.  should work a lot better
