I need a simple silent intrusion pager alarm with a photo-sensor similar to what a garage door would use or some other reliable sensor that would detect a person's presence in a confined area but not be sensitive to other small movements or shocks. Can someone receommend a simple way to put something like this together with commercially available products and cheap? I don't need any other functions such as alarm siren, remote start, etc.

Thanks!

I would suggest that you get a 2-way alarm system and wire a perimeter sensor to it. DEI makes a decent proximity sensor, but the part number is escaping me at the moment. if you don't want the intruder to know that you know he is there, just don't hook up the siren and light flash functions of the alarm, so the only indication that a violation of the system has occurred would be on your remote.

The relay clicking would still be there if the brain unit has a built in parking light system even if the lights are not hooked up. subtle, but a thief will recognize it.

Solution: Open the unit, and disable the P.Light relay.
