First time poster here
Just about ready to install my Avital 5303 on to my 2004 Malibu Maxx and im wondering about the starter kill/anti grind option. There is no starter wire used in my installation so how can this be accomplished? I know about the DEI 8618 relay but just confused how to use it in my case.

Here is the info on including this feature on your car from ReadyRemote :

Starter     Purple (for starter kill only) (+) @ starter or underhood fuse box, white 68 pin plug, pin D12

A few thoughts...

Starter Kill isn't mandatory, just an optional feature.  Implementing it on your car ( with no ignition Starter wire ) is
a bit of additional work.  Your car already has built in Anti-Grind, so that feature isn't necessary.  As for Starter Kill
as an anti-theft measure, you already have GM'S MUTLIPLEX IGNITION/ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM, the steering wheel
and transmission shifter are locked when the key is removed and you are adding an Avital alarm system.

Soldering is fun!

Thank you for the detailed response. Didn't know about the built in anti grind so that works out great. And I won't bother with the starter kill then.
