I just installed in my 04 Honda PIlot  2 - 10"  Swiss SW series 4 ohm subs in a bandpass box. I am using a Orion 2150 SX amp. How do I wire this to get the best sound. I have noticed that when I connect the 2nd sub it losses power / gets distorted. I am pretty sure that it has to do with the ohms of the amp and subs any help would be greatly appreciated. Right now the subs are installed normal one side of the amp to each speaker. The amp has an EQ and a mono button on it I have them both depressed. Thank You!

I was given the 2 10" Swiss audio subs They say SW series on them. They are silver with a raised logo on front the magnet has rubber around it with a chrome back. I need to know whether or not these are single or dual voice coil speakers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If they are the SW series, 10" subs, according to the info I found on their website, they are single voice coil subs. As far as the amp goes, it looks like you have it wired to the subs in stereo and you have the mono button turned on. Turn it OFF. See what that sounds like.

I tried that still sounds crappy. I think its the way it wired in the box should they run in series or parellel. I think the best sound would be to run the amp  600X1 in 4 ohms then jump the speakers. Think that would give me great sound but not sure how to make my connections. There are 2(+) & 2(-) on the amp + the mono & EQ button. The speakers are in the box so I am not sure if they have teminals on either side of the sub. any help will be appciated, I just wanna !BumP! again. Thanx.

I called a dealer and I am sure the 2 10" Swiss audio subs are single voice coil so does this mean that there are only terminals on one side?

Are they designed to work in a bandpass box? Are you sure both of the subs are good?

Also, when you parallel the woofers, and bridge the amp to that 2 ohm load, the amplifier is actually running at one ohm per channel, TWICE the maximum load the amplifier is rated for.
You are stuck with one woofer per channel, at 150 watts per woofer. Sorry.
The "mono" button will have nothing to do with anything. All that button does is sum the input signals inside the amplifier. That amp is internally bridged, so I know for certain that this button will do nothing as far as the sound is concerned. You MIGHT get an extra .1dB more out of the system, but I doubt it.
Also, from every experience I have ever had with band-pass enclosures, they have always sounded like arse. Loud, but loud arse. Put them in a properly tuned vented enclosure, and I bet you have MUCH better luck in the fidelity department.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I doubt they were made for a bandpass box and I really cant afford payin for new enclosure at the moment.

My amp does 600X1 in 4 ohms mono which I figure is bridged. How can I figure which wires to hook up, I think it would be 1(+) from 1channel & 1(-) from the other channel but how do I figure out which channels (+)(-).  As far as the speakers I thought if I use the amp like this I can wire that to 1 speakers (+)(-) then jump that to the other speakers (+)(-). My problem there is that the bandpass box doesn't allow me access to the terminals. Can I just jump it on the outside of the box where the speaker wires connect to the (+)(-) terminals.

Would turning my speakers inside of the box so when you look through the bandpass boxglass you see the magnets of the subs. Will this make them sound better worse? It would solve my speaker wiring terminal to teminal problem.

Any help? Thanx alot!
